Project Description

Bob Dunn, who lives in Elgin and works in nearby Rochester, says a lack of safe bicycling infrastructure limits his transportation options: “I would love to bike to and from work. However, the county highways between these towns don’t have paved shoulders for two miles outside the Rochester city limits. I’m happy to share the road from the shoulder, but on Olmsted 2 and 9 a bicyclist has to ride in the traffic lane or in the mud for two miles in order to get to Rochester. This seems like an oversight of some kind.”
